Job Purpose:
Under the general direction of the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) the Clinical Psychologist is responsible for:
- Provision of Direct Service (Psychosocial Therapies)
- Supervision of students on clinical rotation, volunteer and practicum
- Assist in development and implementation of System of Care documentation.
- Preparation of reports, program plan and budget submission
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares and delivers lectures in the MBBS and DM programmes
- Design, implement and evaluate assessment tools and criteria for courses, mark assessments, ensuring adequate moderation, providing written or oral feedback as appropriate. Mark final assessments as required.
- Supervise MSc and Doctoral psychology students/interns with their comprehensive psychological and developmental assessment.
- Provides training/supervision to interns as assigned.
- Collaborates with other treatment team members regarding patients’ progress through interdisciplinary team meetings, record review, and informal discussions.
- Conduct Research
- Participates regularly in staff meetings.
- Maintains all national licensure requirements. Fulfils continuing education requirements as required by licensing body
- Provides consultation to professionals, hospitals, organizations, schools or agencies outside of this institution/organization
- Conducts psychometric testing and evaluation
- Provides supervision for the level 1 Clinical Psychologist
- Model and promote good communication, customer service, and positive representation of the institution/organization to clients, customers, referral sources and the public.
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree from an accredited university in Clinical Psychology or related area with coursework related to contemporary behavioural treatment.
- Candidates should be licensed, or be able to become licensed
- Training and clinical experience in providing mental health services to families.
- At least 2 years of postgraduate clinical experience.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity
