Job Purpose:
Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer the Public Relations Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and managing an effective communication and public relations programme for the Bellevue Hospital, and monitors the public relations and communication programmes of the Hospital’s strategic goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement internal and external communications policies and strategies for Bellevue Hospital, including elements of Public/Media Relations, Health Promotion and Employee Communication.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to sensitize staff about policy decisions, activities and developments within the organization
- Monitor social media and brings relevant trending topics to the attention of the Chief Executive Officer.
- Manage the ongoing development of key communications tools including the Hospital’s Website.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the Bellevue Hospital’s communication strategies and plan.
- Provide strategic counsel and technical advice to the Bellevue Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer and Board of Management on issues of communication, public relations and information management.
- Direct and coordinate research on matters for public dissemination.
- Prepare speeches, briefs, position papers, etc, and review those prepared by staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BSc. Degree in Mass Communication/Media/Communication Studies/ Public Relations/Journalism or related discipline.
- Minimum Three (3) years of experience in Public Relations and/or Journalism / and/or Media and Communication Environment
- Certificate in Graphic Design would be an asset
